ABOUT DEBORAH J. TIBBETTS
Deborah J. Tibbetts has over 30 years’ experience in labor and employment law. She advises employers on workplace issues, as well as prepares all forms of employment documents, including employment agreements, licensing agreements, non-disclosure and proprietary rights agreements, employee handbooks, employment policies, training materials, AWS documents, WARN notices, and separation agreements. Ms. Tibbetts has worked as both outside and in-house counsel, including a position as interim associate counsel for the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She has also litigated cases in both federal and state court involving various aspects of labor and employment law, including claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate, unfair competition, misuse and theft of trade secrets, misclassification, wage & hour violations, defamation, workplace violence, retaliation for whistleblower activity, and qui tam actions. Ms. Tibbetts also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for Bender’s California Labor and Employment Bulletin and has been a contributor to the compliance assistance website Xpert HR.
